My name is Marwa, and I am a 37-year-old self-taught artist.
I have been painting on and off since 2008, and it was only in 2016 that I decided to be a full-time artist.
What Inspires the Paintings?
Feelings, it could be in the colors combination, or the abstract shapes of the objects. It could be my own feelings reflecting on how I've painted the scene. Painting is using colors and brushstrokes to tell a story, to convey emotions and sometimes to share how she sees the world.
I paint with oil colors and I work with a limited palette of Alizarin Crimson, Phthalo Blue, Cadmium Yellow Pale Hue, Titanium White and Soft Mixing White with Liquin Fine Detail as a medium and Sansodor as a solvent. And I use soft brushes, palette knives and sometimes my fingers to paint.
